"The Wisconsin Creoles" mentions a Tibeau family who may or may not be related to Jane. I think that the original French name was Thibault and that all the others, including "Thebeault", are merely phonetic renderings. [The "l" and the "t" are not pronounced] I might as well include the Wisconsin family:
"Augustin and Hyacinth Tibeau were voyagers at La Pointe and Green Bay in the 1805 to 1810 period. Augustin Tibeau operated one of John Lawe's farms. Augustin was a carpenter and joiner from Quebec; with these skills he was asked to operate Pierre Grignon's saw-mill on Dutchman's Creek. He married Angela Ducharme, who was one-half Menominee Indian. These are some of their children:
Angelique [b. ca. 1800] Jean Baptiste [married Marinette and had these children:] Louise [b. 29 April 1834] Mitchel [married Elizabeth Grignon, daughter of Gust and Fay Mas Hawk] Simon Agnes They lived in Kaukauna Antoine [b. 1809 d. 1867] married Catherine Roy and had a son, Francis [b. 17 Jan. 1833] Patrick [b. 1816] Madeleine [married Charles Hyotte] Hypolite and his wife, Mary, had a daughter, Sophie, b. June 1839 Joseph was born at Milwaukee Francis [b. 1822] lived at Manitowoc and was bound out as an apprentice in 1833.
