Looking for researchers or descendants of Augustin Rocque and his wife Angélique Jourdain.
Augustin Rocque was born 26 Nov 1744 at Varennes, Quebec. His parents were Augustin Couillaud dit Rocque (1715-1778) and Catherine Cadieu (1727-1755). He died 23 Jan 1804 at St. Charles, Illinois Country (now the State of Illinois). Augustin is one of three brothers involved in the fur trade during the 18th century. One brother, Joseph (1746-after 1815) was a fur trader and govertment interpreter in the upper Mississippi who married La Bleau, a daughter of Wapasha I. The other brother, Andre (1748-unknown) was a voyageur working mostly between Montreal and Mackinac.
Angélique Jourdain was born 28 Feb 1759 at "la Baye" (now Green Bay, Wisconsin). Her parents were Jean Baptiste Jourdain (1718-1776) and Marie Josephe Réaume (1729-1762). She died sometime before 5 Sep 1817 in Illinois Country.
I am unable to find documentation of their marriage, assumed to have been around 1778 at "la Baye."
Also, a son was born to that union, Augustin Rocque (after 1781 - after 1817). I am unable to find documentaion whether he married and/or left any descendants.
